Edgetronics is an application that allows users to control gates and garage systems, schedule events, and manage user permissions for connected devices. The app is designed for both general and industrial use.

2. Information We Collect

We minimise data collection and do not collect unnecessary personal information.

Account Information

• Username (used for identifying users within a device system)
• No email addresses are stored in the app
• No phone numbers are collected

Device Access & Control Data

• Commands and control signals sent to connected devices
• Device UUIDs used for authentication
• Temporary session authentication data

Location Information

• Used for map and distance features
• Not permanently stored

User Content

• Schedules and configuration data stored on device or connected hardware

3. How We Use Information

• Enable communication between app and devices
• Authenticate and authorise users
• Support scheduling and automation features
• Display location-based information

4. Data Storage

• Stored locally on the user's device
• Stored on connected hardware devices
• Backend hosted on DigitalOcean

We do not centrally store personal user data on Edgesmith servers.

5. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for notifications
• WebSocket / Bluetooth communication for device control
• DigitalOcean backend services

No advertising or analytics services are used.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties. Data is only transmitted between the app, connected devices, and backend services.

7. Security

Authentication is required for all device actions. All control commands require authorised sessions.

8. User Accounts

Users log in using a username/password and device UUID. No email-based accounts are used.

9. Location Data

Location is used only for features such as mapping and distance display and is not stored externally.

10. Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the app or this page.
